Design Team Tuesday

Hey Peeps! Jen Buck here. I hope you have are all having a wonderful holiday season! We missed most of the snow in our neck of the woods for Christmas. My boys were so upset. Luckily we got a couple of inches on Sunday so we've been spending much of our time playing outside and sledding. I'm so glad that my youngest only wants to sled on the really small hills! I feel like I've spent the last couple of days on a stairmaster!

I've got a few projects to share for you today. A couple of my favs that you may have seen already and one new one with the latest KOTM. This months kit is AMAZING!

Here's another with this kit using the same papers.....

And last, one of my favorite layouts.....
This is my little cutey that can't seem to keep out of my glitter! I posted not to long ago about a little incident with the glitter and our fish tank only to come downstairs to find the fishtank filled yet again. That's why he's such a cutey pie! It's hard to stay mad at that little face!

I hope you all have a wonderful New Years! Stay safe and best wishes!

i love wishes.

Jimmi's Favorite Things Sunday!

Hi everyone! It's Jimmi, here with some of my favorite things.

Christmas was SO wonderful for me! My sister came from FL with my niece who is 6 and my nephew who is 2 and it was just amazing to see the kids excitement on Christmas morning!!! 6 and 2 year-olds get a little more excited than 17 year-olds but Rachel was still as excited as I've ever seen her...probably a little of the kids excitement rubbed off :D

Onto some of my favorite things from this week!

It's totally my favorite thing to see my niece see SNOW for the 1st time in her life! Granted it was man-made and at Busch Gardens...but she was DELIGHTED! I just love the way she threw her head back and that smile on her face is priceless!

This card by Michelle Boyer @ Paper Cuts is totally one of my favorites! The little shelf she made and these colors are SO sweet!!!

Meeting Santa is another favorite thing of mine!!! When he asked what I want and all I said was more of my favorite lipgloss (which i'll share), he said I was the easiest gift recipient he'd talked to ALL YEAR, lol :)
HUGE sales and New Releases are definitely 2 of my favorite things!!! Most especially when the sale is MORE than 50% off and the new releases include PIRATES, PUPPIES, KITTIES and MORE....yippee!!!

Here's my FAVORITE lipgloss in the entire world. I have used 3 full tubes of it this year and just got a brand new one in my stocking! It's just the perfect color and shininess and it lasts long enough. It's by Bare Minerals and it's from the Buxom Lips line and the color is Dolly, it's a pale plummy/pinkish color....perfect!

This card by Jenn Balcer, oh pretty is it? LOVE the colors and the pearls and the cutting around the die-cut with the scallop scissors, oh my!!!

Okay, so I broke down and bought a coat...I don't do coats so this was out of the ordinary for me, but we were going to Christmas Town on Christmas Eve and it was around 25* I hit my favorite store and found THIS coat and it was only $40! So it became mine and boy was I happy to have it, I was nice and cozy and warm all night long and stylish, too!
Ok how about this gorgeous card, so perfect for Valentine's Day, which is coming fast! It's by Lynn Mercurio, her blog is Stamperosity. I love these 2 sayings and I LOVE that rhinestone shooting star, isn't it fabulous?
How about my favorite thing I got for's a silly little thing but I love it because I didn't ask for it and I usually just get exactly what I ask for, not too many surprises, so this was a cute, fun surprise from Mike...a Buccaneers Beanie Cap! How cute is that? Well, lol.....if you don't love the Bucs like I do then it might not be cute to you...but you know what I mean ;D
I LOVE surprises...especially when they are GOOD surprises!
I hope you've had a wonderful Christmastime with your family and friends, however you celebrated! We are still celebrating and I am LATE because I need to leave in 1 hour to go to my in-laws for lunch and I better run, cause this hair doesn't look straight and shiny on it's own, haha!!!

And I will see you in 2010, WOW!

Year's end is neither an end nor a beginning but a going on, with all the wisdom that experience can instill in us. ~Hal Borland

Merry Christmas! Love, Love, Love.

Christmas Eve morning has arrived in normal Christmas FASHION!
....or so it seems.
I know it is right on time, however every single year I am slightly
behind schedule.

This very moment I am watching my husband throw together some YUMMY egg sandwiches.
My house is warm and cozy and twinkling just as it should be the morning of Christmas Eve.
We all have a general sense of happiness that is lending to the energy of the moment.

TONS of fluffy loveliness arrived late last night.
The word is that we are going to be hit with more snow than we have seen since 1942 in the next few days.
I mentioned this to my son James....and he was DELIGHTED - His jaw dropped, followed by the most priceless look upon his freckled face as he raised his hands to the heaven's and whispered "YES!" with excitement!

James my 12 year old is assembling his layers of outside clothing - getting ready to help Tommy T blow the snow out of our driveway (what a GREAT guy that Tommy is!)

I still have 46 stocking stuffers to wrap.
Soon, sporting my fluffy robe and slippers,  I will proceed into the bedroom to accomplish that task.

I suppose I have laundry to consider this morning.
Sawyer and Luke are BOTH singing in the Church Choir at 4 pm.
I am pretty sure they have NOTHING to wear as of yet.
I didn't buy Christmas Outfits for the boys.
Considering the 67 loads of laundry we have at all times... I figured we had enough to choose from.
They are MUCH too into their own styles for me to even attempt dressing them up.
Being the laid back sort of mama I am, I have confidence they will dress in what they love and be ready for Church this evening.

------------------------------- we are....already!

Personally, this is my 36th Christmas Celebration.
That sounds like something a person looks forward to watching on Television
36th annual Christmas Celebration
The beautiful thing is WE are the creator of our own Christmas Story.
I hope YOU make YOURS beautiful, memorable and feel the Joy that we are all meant to feel in this Season of Miracles.
Christmas is Love.
It has been about love since the beginning of time.

"Every time we love, every time we give, it's Christmas"

May the Love in your life provide the GIFT of Happiness to you and YOURS.

God Bless, Merry Christmas and THANK YOU for being such a
beautiful part of my life!

January Sneak Peek #1 and a BIG SURPRISE from Unity!!!!

Introducing January Kit of the Month
Sneak Peek #1!

AND a BIG Surprise from Unity!

Starting December 26th, 2009

DT Member Natalie Dever! Writing the Unity Blog Today!

Hey Unity Peeps!  It's me Natalie and it's my turn to share some fun stuff with you today!
First off I just want to thank the Unity folks for letting me be a small part of the team.  I absolutely LOVE everything about Unity....the stamps, the kits the people.... LOVE it all!!

My first card features this months Kit of the Month. I layered the two stamps and added a button and a little ZVA swirl for fun.  the paper is Cosmo Cricket

My next two cards use the same basic sketch.  It's a great sketch and one you can tuck away for those days when you need to make a card but don't know where to begin...a 'got to' sketch :)
The first card uses the super fabulous Donna Downey's 'The Artist in You' set along with yellow.  I don't often use yellow but I needed something cheery on a cloudy Wisconsin day, (added the buttons because I just love buttons!)

the second card uses the My Mind's Eye paper from last months Scrapbook Collage kit and 'Love Grows', remember this super cute Valentine set?!!  Time to start using it again!!

Thanks for spending a little time with me today! I hope your holiday weekend is everything you want and need it to be!  Don't forget to charge the batteries for your camera!!

You Can Learn a lot of Things from the Flowers...

Hee hee...that's from my FAVORITE movie of all time, Alice in Wonderland :)

You can also learn a lot of things from your 4th grade teacher, and on that note, I have some cards to share with you today, using this awesome flower from the December KOTM, {Delightful Moments}.    I made this set as a teacher gift for my 4th grade DD's teacher, Mrs. Tate.

This time of year it's so hard for me to come up with a teacher gift that means as much as I credit these teachers for doing.  We are SO blessed with such a wonderful school and the teachers are especially wonderful.

So, in addition to going in on a class gift, I wanted to make her something special; something from the heart.   I asked my DD and found out that she loves earthy, organic things and bright I came up with these.  I used the Basic Grey Nook and Pantry line of DP-LOVE IT!  The fun fabric brads came from BG Nook and Pantry line as well.

I left the notecards blank so that she could use them for almost anything, included some envelopes, and also created a box to put them in.  For more info on the box (I used an awesome Ippity quote for it, too :), I'd love for you to visit my BLOG to check out some more pics!

Thank you SO much for coming by today and for letting me share more UNITY with you.  You have no idea how much it means to me or how big my smile was last night knowing that Monday was coming up and it was again my turn to share something with you, who are so inspiring!

For even MORE inspiration, the fabulous RONA is GROWING IN UNITY all week long!  Check out her fabulous blog:

Have a wonderful week everyone!  I will leave you with two quotes that really got me as I was typing this:

"Teachers who inspire know that teaching is like cultivating a garden, and those who would have nothing to do with thorns must never attempt to gather flowers."  ~Author Unknown

"I perhaps owe having become a painter to flowers."  ~Claude Monet

Jimmi's Favorite Things Sunday {almost on Monday!}!

So SORRY! I am late....later than late, unacceptably late and I apologize!
This week is crazy crazy around here. I just did the majority of my Christmas shopping yesterday and a little today so the weekend was a blur!
Also, my sister and my niece and nephew are coming on Wednesday so I am getting ready for that...yikes! My house is not kid-friendly so this will be intersting ;)

I do of course have some favorite things for the week!

Starting with this ADORABLE card set Ashley made! Do you not love it? The pinkness is just perfect!

and onto the latest pair of Skinny Jeans I bought for myself for Mike to give me for's the only way to have Christmas in Jimmi's world;)
They are so comfy, I love that about American Eagle jeans and they are on sale for $29.50 :)

Moving onto this PURPLE card by Shemaine on her blog Scraptastic! Isn't it beautimus??? I want this card immediately sent to: Jimmi Mayo, 104 Oliver Street, Su.....LOL :)
You don't blame me for trying do you?

How is this for eye candy? This creation by Beate is stunning...if I had half the talent....WOW!
All the detail is amazing, you can actually feel the love that went into this card, can't you?

Now I am going to share a purchase I made that is out of the ordinary for me....Rachel said she wanted some *old skool* headphones for her ipod, you know, the big ones we used to wear in the early 80's?? So I went to find some at Target and came upon these COOL Roxy/JBL headphones that cost more than any headphones I'd ever heard of...and I was with my friend and she was like "Rachel deserves those, she's so good and loves her ipod, just get em..." so I did...and I am not telling Mike how much they were ;) It can be OUR secret ok? (they were $15 less at Target...I swear!)
But aren't they CUTE???

Here is a gorgeous card by Danielle Lounds that I LOVE, I love the colors, they remind me of a warm day...not 30* days like we've been having, yuck! But this card is all about a Spring Day in May, LOVELY!Next time we talk Christmas will have come and gone...I hope all of you have a wonderful Christmas with whoever you choose to celebrate with and just cherish those people able to be around you....I know this year I am missing some special people in my life yet i am so thankful for the ones I still have....
BIG HUGS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

And the Grinch, with his Grinch-feet ice cold in the snow, stood puzzling and puzzling, how could it be so? It came without ribbons. It came without tags. It came without packages, boxes or bags. And he puzzled and puzzled 'till his puzzler was sore. Then the Grinch thought of something he hadn't before. What if Christmas, he thought, doesn't come from a store. What if Christmas, perhaps, means a little bit more. ~Dr. Seuss

This December,
That love weighs more than gold!
~Josephine Dodge Daskam Bacon

At Christmas play and make good cheer,
For Christmas comes but once a year
~Thomas Tusser

I love the Christmas-tide, and yet,
I notice this, each year I live;
I always like the gifts I get,
But how I love the gifts I give!
~Carolyn Wells

Wouldn't life be worth the living
Wouldn't dreams be coming true
If we kept the Christmas spirit
All the whole year through?

Wednesday Rambling....

Every single year since my oldest son Nic (on the far left of this photo) was ONE - we have gone to the same place to pick out our family  Christmas tree.
It is a lovely little nursery - decked out with christmas decor, a wood stove, cookies, cider, santa and a beautiful black lab.
The same people and the same gentle energy is present every single time we arrive.
Each year  I walk in with all four of my boys - and of course, it is a proud moment, knowing how much they have grown since our last visit.
THIS YEAR was very special to me.
Nic will turn 18 in February.
It was bitter sweet.

I was reviewing my personal blog that I kept prior to Unity - and this stuck out.
I wanted to share it with everyone.

I know that this lifetime really is one moment long.
All the memories will be tied up into one simple moment one simple feeling.
I am so filled with that emotion I sometimes feel as though my heart may burst.
To have been given so many opportunities to love.
 I can't even believe it!
The very best part?
It will only get better.

This was my favorite quote today!

......if you stumble - make it part of your dance.
Love that.
I stumble a lot.
Enjoy your evening!
