When I was little, the week after Christmas was thank you time.  My mother would plop my sister and me down at the kitchen table with a pen in hand.  I would write on the top half and my sister got the bottom.  Oh how I dreaded that week as a little one.  But as I got older, I learned how important that note of appreciation was.  I think that is the reason I love making thank you cards the most.

I am ready this year!  I made up a quick set of thank you cards using the November 2011 kom - Take your Time.  I stamped the row of houses 3 times along the bottom and used a Copic marker to color in just one car and the chimney hearts.  Stamp the saying in a matching ink, rounded the corners and I was done.  Love CAS cards.

Can't wait to mail these out.

Happy New Year's Eve!!!
May 2012 bring you lots of joy and happiness.

S.M.A.K.-Tag Album

Happy New Year's Eve!
What a great way to kick off the last day of 2011
than with a little
S.M.A.K. dOwN!!!! not really,
a real smak down, BUT
one with our gorgeous
It's Lisa H. here and I made an easy peasey
tag album with my little guys' school pictures.
I loved that all the numbers and letters in this kit
allowed me to make some great backgrounds
for my tags.
I used the December S.M.A.K. KIT

Here's the cover.
I used mailing tags
You can get some here
with the

I added
LOTS of distress ink
with the blending tool.

I think I inked up just about ALL of the stamps in this set
to create the fun backgrounds on each of the tags.

Each tag also has a film strip, an open scallop die-namic
and a star.
The star has little journaling
telling which grade and how old each boy is.

You can see the "me" stamp and the playing card images in the background on this one.
I also accented with stitching and some tiny staples.
Those are also Tim Holtz.... from the tiny attacher.

AND Here's the final tag in my album.

Thanks for stopping by. Hope you ring in the New Year
doing something you LOVE!
Be sure to check out the
NEWEST S.M.A.K. kit.

Co-Brand Friday - Melody Ross!!

Hi there Unity Friends!  It's Karen with you today, and I am sharing a card that I made using my "Domestic Bliss" - Melody Ross Co-Brand set!

After all, it's my daughter's birthday today, so I thought I'd make her a card featuring the cake from this set!  I added some thick glitter to the top of the cake for some fun texture...and don't you just love that font from this set...WOW!

So, we are off  for a fun day of  pampering!  We're getting the nails done, having lunch at her fave place, and shopping for gifts 'specially for this awesome girl..what a fun time this will be!!   There's more in store for her, but I can't let the cat out of the bag just yet (grin)!!

Whatever you do today, sure hope it will be a fun one!!  Just one more day before New Year's Eve, so on that note...I want to wish you all an early super New Year 2012!!

Hugs & Smiles,

year 4 is upon us.

isn't that what we yell when our golf ball is about to hit someone in the head?
personally, in real life - i have YELLED that a time or two...
not because I have over driven my tee shot, mostly because MY golf ball hit the tip of my club  -  shot in a totally different direction and THEN nearly has taken out the pour soul on the hole NEXT to me.

do you ever have those moments?

you are aiming in one direction....very certain that you are going to hit one specific goal - and then ALL OF SUDDEN your shot {aka: YOU} ends up going completely somewhere different.
happens to me all the time.
all. the. time.
i think i have grown to love that.
what other choice do i have?
good thing we can be willing to grab a different club, find a new ball, start over ....
or better yet, play the game out of sequence with people i never dreamed i would have met had i not made the so called "wrong move" in the first place.

sometimes - i get frustrated by the "FOURS" in life.
i stand back and say FOR REAL? - is this REALLY happening?
couldn't someone have yelled a little EARLIER?  given me a LOUDER warning?
and WHAMMO.

there we are have ALL BEEN THERE - standing on the verge of apprehension wondering "what next?"

and it is brilliant.
and SO MUCH BETTER than the original "shot/direction" you were taking, anyway!
UNITY has ALWAYS been like that.
...come to think of it - LIFE is like that.

this leads me to break the "big" {but not really that big} news.

you know what is different this year than last year, and the year before that, and the year before that?
has anyone noticed?
the ranting and craziness is g.o.n.e.

think about it.....

what is different?

who is NOT FREAKING OUT about CHA?

that would be me.
this chick.
calm and collected.
well.....not REALLY....but kinda.
just different.
all together.

why are we not putting up a big brilliant LOVELY booth?
we don't wanna.
plain and simple.
we just don't.

we have new stamps.
from our artists
from our co-brands.
matching all the up and coming best.
we are JUST GOING TO OFFER THEM from our little UNITY home.
we like it here.
it is where we do our best.

chris and i will attend the show.
meet all the people we LOVE.
smile, laugh and enjoy.

'cause  i shouted "FOUR" long time ago.
deep down in my soul.
year two.  CHA was AMAZING and LOVELY and EGO BUILDING.
year three. was just year three.  the SOUL STIRRING was not there.

new plan.
if your soul is not stirred...
time for a change.

YOU know how i LOVE new.
YOU know how i LOVE taking CHANCES,
YOU know how i go on FAITH and FEELING.
dare i say it...

i FEEL that UNITY has a CLEAR and BEAUTIFUL new direction.
supported by our co-brands.
supported by our staff.
supported by our customers.
and all we need is that.
'cause it is all about YOU.

so watch what happens.
no matter WHAT it will be INSPIRING....
and 2012 is SURE to be a lovely year.

we look forward to new friendships.
we look forward to understanding what YOU want.
we look forward to bringing you the tools to inspire your soul.
if UNITY can be just a small part of that creativity.

A HUGE thanks to each and every person that has taken part in our journey.
without YOU we are not UNITY.
there is a turn in the path where each one of you holds a special place in our hearts.
i hope that you will continue to be part of it.
enjoying every step of the way.
we adore you.

chris & ang.

Glittery Ippity Wednesday!

Hey, everyone!

Jess here with a super fun and sparkly little tag I made to wrap a birthday present I needed to mail this week :)

Have you all seen the December {ippity} release?  I LOVE it-and definitely *had* to create something using the new "Do what makes you happy" set.... perfect sentiment for a birthday wish, wouldn't you agree?

I added the "giggles x3" sentiment because I thought it was a cute way to finish it off :)   What do you think?   I hope my recipient loves it ;)  Always fun to create things for someone who really appreciates handmade art and paper crafting, too :)

Be sure to join us back here tomorrow for HIP HOP Thursday...and if that Christmas cash is burning a hole in your pocket or if Santa is wanting to fulfill your Unity wish list, NOW is the time- there are going to be some pretty awesome sales going on and you can fill a cartful for a really reasonable amount!  Happy shopping and even HAPPIER stamping, everyone!
Jess ;)

Growing In Unity Wednesday

Hello and welcome to Wednesday and time for another Growing in Unity Gal! This week we have the talented Jennifer Roach.

Meet Jennifer:

Here is a little something about our GIU girlie Jennifer:

"My name is Jennifer and I live in Ontario, Canada with my husband and 2 year old daughter. I'm a scientist by day and crafter by night ---or really just about any free time I have!!

I started out in paper crafting back in about 2002 when my Mom and I took a scrapbooking class together. A few years later I was introduced to stamping and cardmaking and it has been my passion ever since.

Unity Stamps is definitely one of my favourite stamp manufacturers. I love the variety of designs they offer and I look forward to the first day of each month so I can see the new Kit of the Month! I'm definitely addicted to rubber.

Other than crafting, I love to play tennis as you can probably tell from my blog address:
For my Growing in Unity cards this week, I challenged myself to use only stamp Unity stamp sets that I hadn't opened yet (and yes, there are a few LOL!). I hope you'll hop on over to my blog so see all my creations."

Check out this beautiful card she created as one of her Unity projects for this week:

Be sure to swing on by Jennifer's blog every day this week and leave her some love! At the end of the week she will pick one random winner from all her wonderful comments!

Till next week!

DT Tuesday with Eva

Hi there, it's Eva here today and I am here to share a card with you today.  I thought  why not make a card with our December SMAK kit. It's a fabulous kit for layouts, mixed media projects, however you can use them for cards as well, which is what I did.  Take a look at this fabulous kit!

And here is what I created with it.

I think this card could make a sweet Valentine's day card, or a Love card for any day.  When I saw these stamps, I knew I wanted to create a background piece with them, so I did  just that and after lot of layering this is what I came up withh.  Hope you like this card and pick up the December SMAK kit.
